Exposed Aggregate Colour Options

Ready to have your exposed aggregate driveway built? Here are the steps that we are going to take to make that dream a reality.

  1. Choose the colour that suits your property, your taste, and your budget. Do you wish to use plain grey pebbles entirely or do you want some white ones mixed with grey? Or do you wish to use red or cream-coloured pebbles instead?
  2. Select the type of aggregate you wish to use. Gravel, pebbles, and decorative stones are just a few of the types of aggregates that we can use for your driveway. Reach out to us if you want to use other types of aggregates.
  3. Choose the surface’s exposure level. Exposed aggregate concrete has three exposure levels and these are:

  • Hard exposure wash
  • Medium exposure wash
  • Light exposure wash

If you want the driveway to be a little smoother than usual, then go for a light exposure wash.

But if you want to really bring out the beauty of exposed aggregate and get the texture that you’ve been looking for, then choose a medium exposure wash.

For greater traction in the driveway, however, we recommend that you go for a heavy exposure wash. With a heavy exposure wash, you’ll get a rougher, more defined texture, which makes it perfect for properties located in steep areas.

  1. Last but not least is to choose the type of exposed aggregate sealer to protect your exposed aggregate driveway.

This is just an overview and there’s so much more to know about exposed aggregate concrete. If you have questions (of course, you do!), then reach out to us via phone or email. We’re always happy to answer your questions.

Why Choose Exposed Aggregate for Your Property?

Exposed aggregate is one of the most popular driveway materials for many property owners. Why? Take a look at the reasons below.

Exposed aggregate driveways offer improved traction not only for your car but also for you and other people walking on it. What we love about it is its texture. It’s great on sunny days, but it is also safe to walk when it is raining thanks to its rough texture. It is also perfect for houses or commercial properties built in steep areas.

When done right, exposed aggregate driveways last longer compared to other types of surfaces. Here’s what we recommend: have it maintained regularly so you can use it for decades to come.

It doesn’t require a lot of maintenance. You only need to sweep it to remove dust, leaves, and debris. We also recommend that you have it sealed regularly to prevent cracks from forming and to keep the surface in great shape for many years to come.

It has that understated elegance and clean look. Its classic look and colour contrast nicely with verdant lawns and buildings of any colour.

You have plenty of options when it comes to exposed aggregate colours, materials, and patterns! Choose whichever matches your property’s exterior paint or design.
